Interferes with ADL more than the patient is willing to accept
- Walking
- Working
- Leisure activities
- Sleeping
Many people can accept some level of aches and pains. Total knee replacement is not indicated in such individuals.
If, on the other hand, the pain significantly interferes with day-to-day activities (such as walking, working, leisure activities, sleeping etc.) beyond what the affected person can tolerate, then total knee replacement, if successful, may allow the patient to return to such activities.
